2,80

Coarse cornmeal is a rustic yellow flour, stone-ground from coarse-grain corn. It has a low content of saturated fats and sodium, and is particularly valued for its authentic taste and hearty texture.

Pairings:
Perfect for preparing classic polenta, with a rough and coarse texture, ideal for grilling or serving with numerous traditional pairings. Among the most popular: polenta with stew, polenta with guinea fowl, polenta with braised meat, polenta with wild boar, fried polenta, polenta with gorgonzola, polenta with valley cheese, polenta with sausage, baked polenta, polenta with milk, etc.

Processing
Coarse cornmeal is obtained by coarsely grinding dried corn, typically using stone mills that enhance its rustic taste and irregular texture. After careful cleaning of the kernels, the corn is crushed without being completely refined, thus preserving some of the bran and fiber. The result is a yellow, coarse and granular flour, perfect for preparing traditional polenta with an intense flavor and hearty consistency.
Curiosity
Coarse cornmeal is obtained from the coarse grinding of corn, also known as maize. Introduced to Italy after the discovery of America, it is now deeply connected to the culinary tradition of many regions, particularly through the preparation of polenta, its main use.
